Did McCain Make Hillary Toxic?

Lately I have had a sinking feeling in my gut.

Is he on his way out now?

Joe Biden has been running around the country making gaffes, which is fairly normal for him.  What isn’t normal is the number of gaffes made in a row, or the willingness of the media to cover them, however briefly.

Why does this matter..?

In politics, it is very hard to remove someone from a ticket without seeing a substantial backlash, unless there is a good and well-known reason for doing so.

To me, this all looks like a politically calculated set up.

The Obama campaign is stagnating.  They’re out of ideas, and have gone fully negative.  With no achievements to crow about, they have nothing positive with which to hang their hats upon.  Joe Biden doesn’t add anything for the Obama team this year.  In fact, he almost certainly represents a net loss for the campaign as a whole.  He keeps taking them off of their message.  He is seen as a buffoon everywhere except for the most liberal of circles.

He just isn’t good old “Uncle Joe” anymore.  He’s a liability.

Barack Obama does not like liabilities.

Enter Hillary Clinton.

Many pundits and politicians have made comments recently about the notion of replacing Biden with Clinton.  Seriously, I wish they would all shut the hell up!

I have nightmares about this scenario.

The Democrats would almost certainly win under this scenario.

After 4 years on the world stage, does Hillary still have presidential ambitions? Or has she set her sights elsewhere?

Like it, or not, Clinton’s positives are through the roof for a politician; higher than anyone currently in the race, regardless of the fact that she is one of the most corrupt figures in American political history.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I suppose.

If she still holds ambitions for the presidency, her best shot in 2016 would be from the catbird seat of Vice President.  Still, Clinton might be inclined to turn down such an offer, were one extended to her.  By all accounts, she just isn’t very fond of Barack Obama, and who could blame her after the tactics that Obama’s handler David Axelrod used against her in the last presidential primaries?

But her ambitions were enough to allow her to overcome those negative feelings and take the job as Secretary of State.  It isn’t a stretch to think that she would put her ambition for power ahead of everything else, given that she has done exactly that her entire life.

But will Obama even offer her the job?

Recently, I have been feeling it in the political winds that such a storm was brewing.

John McCain may have provided shelter from that storm.

During a recent interview on Fox News, McCain said that he would drop Biden and replace him with Hillary.  He also said that Hillary was not likely to go along with that plan, but I don’t trust that notion very much, and it isn’t really pertinent here.

What does matter is that the liberal blogosphere was completely apoplectic about the notion of taking advice from that rotten, evil bastard John McCain.

Ah, good old childish liberals.  So very predictable.

Was McCain being a Jedi Master of reverse psychology?  Probably not.  He was most likely just vocalizing what many of us were thinking.  Again, I wish some people would shut the hell up!  But in this case, I am actually glad he did it.  McCain, wittingly or not, has shored up support for Biden to remain on the Obama ticket.

And John, if this works, I forgive you for everything!

Crazy Uncle Joe Strikes Again!

Vice President Joe Biden is a walking, talking gaffe machine on steroids.

Liberals love “Uncle Joe”.

The President of our Senate literally does nothing more than run around the country saying stupid things.  That is his entire job, and he does it well.

For the life of me, I can not think of a single thing that this man has accomplished in his entire career.  And no, liberals, managing to get himself re-elected to the Senate a number of times doesn’t count as an accomplishment, as much as you may think that getting elected is all that matters.

I’m beginning to think that Obama may indeed be a brilliant strategist.  He knew that his policies would go over like a stone for most people, and he needed insurance against getting impeached.

Enter Joe Biden.

No one wants to see that guy become President of anything.

That the media consistently sweeps under the rug the rantings of good old “Uncle Joe” is proof enough of their extreme bias.  But Biden’s latest trip into brain-addled psychedelia crosses lines, even for him.

In front of a small crowd in North Carolina, Biden made some of the most heinous remarks I’ve heard yet, and I hope that at least some people in the media call him out for them.  I’m not even going to quote him.  You really just need to watch it for yourself.  It’s short.

.

I’m not even sure to start with this one, but I may actually be more frightened of the people fawning in the background with their glassy eyes and painted smiles, dutifully and mechanically slapping their hands together in response to a statement that anyone with even a modicum of intelligence would reject instantly.

The fact that Joe Biden feels comfortable enough to bring up Paul Ryan’s deceased father says it all.  He knows he won’t be called on it, despicable as it may be.  Ryan’s father died when he was fifteen years old.  That should be off-limits for any politician.  But the Democrats have no class whatsoever, and the double-standard in play allows them to get personal in the ugliest of ways, while the media happily goes along with their narrative that Republicans are equally ugly for daring to talk about the actual policies of this president.

But “Show me your budget”..?

Really, Joe..?!

How insane is that?

So, by your own standards, Joe, since you have no budget, you have no values at all..?

That one I can buy.

Even assuming that Biden had anything at all to do with the Obama budget proposals, which is unlikely, those budgets failed to get a single vote even from Democrats in the Senate, much less Republicans.  Given the disastrous end to his budget proposals, Obama might actually be considering giving Biden the credit for them.

Biden, as President of the Senate, has not seen a budget passed in three years, despite the fact that the Constitution requires one to be passed.  Apart from Obama’s laughable efforts, the Democrats haven’t even bothered to propose a budget, at all.

But Paul Ryan has, and the Democrats are terrified of it.

Did the Democrats work with Ryan to compromise and find bi-partisan solutions?  They’re supposed to be all about that, right?

On the contrary, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid won’t even allow a vote in the Senate on any budget passed in the House, because he knows they have a good chance of passing in the Senate, even under a Democrat majority.

Talk about the “Party of NO”.

Yes, the Democrats are terrified of the Ryan budget proposals, even though it would be Romney’s proposals taking the lead in a Romney/Ryan administration.  But what terrifies them even more is the contrast of a sensible, intelligent Ryan to the senseless, unintelligible Biden that will become more apparent the closer we get to November, despite the media’s efforts to hide it.

Who would be a better leader for our country?

Democrats don’t want Americans asking that question.

Why Chick-Fil-A is Different

My readers probably already know the basics:

The Chief Operating Officer of Chick-Fil-A, Dan Cathy, has committed an unforgivable sin in the eyes of liberals and gay activists.  He has dared to disagree with them, without actually being one of them.  You see, apparently it is okay to publicly oppose something on the gay agenda as long as you are one of the people that they adore, like Barack Obama.  No such luck, there, Dan…  You’re a filthy Christian and you must be exposed as the “hate-filled bigot” that you are.  It doesn’t matter that you hold the same position that our illustrious president held a mere few months ago.  You and the business that you operate deserve to be destroyed.

I’ve wanted to write an article about the whole Chick-Fil-A debacle since the episode began.  It’s a very compelling story, and so I was hardly alone.  There have been a lot of news stories and articles on the subject.  The problem with writers, and even lowly bloggers like me, is that we want to feel unique.  We really want to feel as though we are bringing a fresh perspective to a story, even if we really aren’t.  So, I felt bad.  Here was a story about which I had very strong feelings, and yet I couldn’t bring myself to write about it because I had nothing new to bring to the table.

In a moment of weakness (which may have involved a beer or two) I reached out to my Twitter friends and voiced my frustration.  Two of my fellow Twitter conservatives, @JonahCrossing and @SundevilSal, gave me some responses that made me think about the subject a little bit more…

Why does this story bother me so damned much?  We all know that liberals love to boycott and attempt to silence anyone who goes against their ideology.  From #StopRush to Target and many others along the way, the far left always attempts to remove from the public sphere anyone that dares oppose them.  This is nothing new.  It has been happening for generations.

What is different about this that grates on my nerves..?  I didn’t put my finger on that until I asked someone else, even though the answer was always right in my face.  And, though I know that others have brought this up, and I am hardly the first, it does scratch that “journalistic itch” buried somewhere inside me.  Or, maybe I’m just a hack blogger happy to have worked out why this particular episode resonates so much more than any of the similar episodes of the past:

At no time in our history, at least that I can recall, has any politician attempted to deny a company the right to operate a private business based solely on the fact that the owners were Christian.

Liberals boycott businesses all of the time, and even seek to deny them permits to build new locations.  But even the Wal-Mart protests centered around the fact that they were non-union and supposedly mistreated their workers, or that the giant chain would kill the poor mom and pop businesses that we all know liberals couldn’t care less about.  The liberals had a smoke screen, at least!

Now they have dropped all pretense.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago and Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston have come out to make statements that they would deny Chick-Fil-A the right to operate their business in those cities.  Apparently, being Christian does not fit the values of Chicago or Boston, which isn’t really surprising, given that both cities are liberal hell-holes that are being destroyed from within by, ironically, the lack of the very Christian values that their mayors decry.  As of this writing, both mayors have had to step back somewhat from their comments, but that changes nothing.  We all know that they only did so because of the spotlight that was placed on them by the rest of the country.  They got hit by a backlash, and rightfully so.  But don’t be fooled…

We can NEVER let this happen, and this notion WILL come into their heads again.  A quote from the movie Serenity comes to mind:  “A year from now, ten, they’ll swing back to the belief…”  Malcolm Reynolds was speaking about the evils of engineering society, and I honestly think that fits here.

And, like the wayward crew of Serenity, we should all “aim to misbehave”.
